Texture as Storyteller
Memories, feelings, and experiences can be hard to put into words. In Texture as Storyteller, we’ll explore how everyday materials, texture, and dimension can help you express your ideas through mixed-media collage.
Co-led by Kate Mckenzie, and Dusk Ball Studio, this hands-on workshop will introduce ways to attach found and collected materials to build a layered collage. Bring items such as fabric, broken jewelry, ceramics, plastic, acrylic, charms, magazines, letters, or postcards. We’ll talk about which adhesives work best for different materials, and supplies will also be available to use.
You’ll create and take home your own small- to medium-sized canvas piece. Sharing the personal meaning behind your work is completely optional.
Light refreshments will be served. Ages 16+.
This is a creative art-making workshop, not psychotherapy or mental health treatment.
Common Craft in Hazel Park, MI
Thursday, November 12th. From 6pm—8pm
$30 per person, no experience necessary.
No refunds or credits.
Free street parking is available. Please do not park in the neighboring parking lot. Vehicles parked there may be ticketed or towed.
